So look, going up is where you find the good stuff, so when Minako sees a hint of something different on the staircase, some pale flutter in the darkness, it's time to reach for the stars! Having an alibi doesn't seem to matter that much, anyway, and all the people she wants to protect are - okay either fine or she can't find them.

She can worry later, finding things is important, if she runs into anyone along the way-

Then she literally does just that. In her defense Ulaz is quiet. Not in her defense is that he's probably wearing a sweater with tinsel on it, but look it's dark and she's fast.

[The elevator doors open.

There's an up and a down button inside the elevator, but no numbered floors.]

[ Let's go back up, maybe she can. Come out of the fridge and collect Ulaz. ]

[The elevator goes up and up...and up, and up, and up... This is an impressively long elevator ride, huh? Eventually, the elevator dings and opens up.

She's on the side wall of a short hallway. Immediately to her left, there's a bunch of tape—the back side of the caution tape blocking off the way to the fifth floor. She's made it through to the other side! The back side of the tape is just blank, instead of reading "CAUTION," but it's thin enough that she can kind of see the outline of the text through the other side.

A few feet down to her right, there'd a door. It's bigger and wider, with two keyholes at appropriate keyhole-level, one outlined in red and one in blue, and a doggie door outlined in green at the bottom.

There's nowhere else to go... This may very well be the end of the line.]

She's hacking her way down to the fourth floor and taking that elevator. ]

[ How long did all that take? Definitely less than twenty full minutes. So when Minako gets back to the kitchen, Ulaz has politely turned the stove off and eaten the eggs she left cooking there. Also he's sitting on the counter near the open oven with the rest of that egg carton in his lap, with his mask and hood down because he's currently in the middle of cracking an egg directly in his open mouth. ]

[ swallows, shuts the carton on the last two eggs left in there ]

[ At least he's not eating the shells?? Does he have tastebuds, or whatever is in a mouth that tells you that eggs are slimy, is he missing those. ]

It goes to the fifth floor, I can't believe you're eating those raw.

[ Taps the machete. Pauses, holds it out to him handle first. ]

[ That would be sweet and touching if Ulaz were that particular variety of sentimental.

But he's not so he just takes it back without any sort of reverence or ceremony and sticks it back through his belt. ]

[ Minako swipes a slice of bread from the fridge since SOMEBODY ate her eggs. ]

Either way, off they go to that new big door, where they will learn nothing of use because this thread's objective was officially completed already.
